Welcome to Amari. My name is Sukhmai, and I’m learning Spanish. I built Amari to help me learn Spanish through videos I enjoy. You can use it to turn foreign language YouTube videos into interactive transcripts and practice with feedback. Let’s get into how it works.
Hover over a word to see its grammar and translation. Click a word to save it. Saved words appear underlined in the transcript, and you can find them in Vocabulary. On mobile, tap a word to see its grammar and translation, then tap the save icon to save it.
In each submitted video specific passages are selected for practice. This practice contains translation, listening, comprehension, pronunciation and writing activities that reinforce your understanding of the video.
Drag across several words to open the action menu. Select Shadow to practice your pronunciation by listening to the sentence and repeating it aloud. You can also translate the selected text or ask questions about something you don’t understand.
Press the play button beside a paragraph to play the video from that moment.
Now save a word from this transcript. Then select a passage and start the practice. When you’re ready, add a YouTube video in the language you’re learning.
